Fishers Of Men

In the last few months, I've begun writing my first book. By no means, am I a skilled writer like my wife, but I've felt the call to put together a series of lessons as I go through my personal time with God. Some of these lessons have involved Gods mysterious grace and mercy, His sovereignty, and the big one being our spiritual growth and maturity.

This book will be for anyone to read once it is finished, but I've felt the call to teach to our men in the church. After spending roughly 9 years in music ministry, in many different forms and places, I've always avoided the idea of teaching. The Lord has recently been working in my life a lot, and I believe He's calling me to minister.

I'm inviting all men, teen boys, and father/son duos to join me at Liberty Park at 7am on Saturday mornings. A big part of my alone time with God has been spent at the pond fishing. Fishing is not required, but feel free to bring your pole if you'd like! Otherwise, the only requirements are a Bible, yourself, and a lawn chair if you'd like. A fishing license is also a requirement if you're planning to fish.

Please join me as I walk you through these lessons. As we engage in discussion, I hope to be challenged as much as you all.

Brother George says, “Continue to pray for our neighborhoods. This is an opportunity to do outreach as you go about your day!”

Questions to ask yourself before you start complaining about your church:

If the church service depended solely on MY worship….. how full of worship would the service be?

If the church had to depend solely on MY giving…… how faithful would my church be?

If the church had to depend solely on MY faithfulness…… how faithful would my church be?

If the church had to survive solely on MY prayer life….. how much prayer would be going on?

If the church could only go as deep as MY relationship with God goes….. how deep would my church be?

If we had to make it on MY Bible reading and knowledge……. How knowledgeable would my church be?

If the preaching depended solely on my response to the preaching and the altar call…….. how responsive would my church be?

If it all depended on me……. What would happen?

Before you start complaining…….. make sure the you’re:
The first one praying
The first one serving
The first one giving
The first one worshipping
The first one reading and studying
The first one responding
The first one fasting
The first one faithful

Remember: we can’t complain if we’re not being what we say we want- Author Unknown
